Job Cost Transaction Types define the types of expenses associtated with a job. They are used in conjunction with Budget Categories.

Transaction types can apply to labor, equipment, material and other costs. Types can be set up to be fairly specific, then organized int to Transaction Type Classes. For example, each specific type of equipment could be set as types, and all of these equipment types could be organized into the Equipment Type Class.

Example:

LA Labor (Transaction Type Class)
LAB Labor
OT Overtime
FR Fringe
EQ Equipment (Transaction Type Class)
CD9 Caterpillar D9
CD10 Caterpillar D10
TRTrucking
T10 10 Wheeler
T18 18 Wheeler
SC SubContractors
SCHAUL Haulers
SCELEC Electrical

Within each expense type, items can be further broken down to specific ASSETS. For example, when recording expenses for the Type CD10, you could specify that unit number CD10.101 was used, or for Labor, the Asset ID could refer to an employee.
