About Production Receipts

Production Receitps is used to indicate the production of an item from another item. When an item is produced it's inventory is increased and the inventory of all components are decreased.

NOTE: as of version 2.7.28.0 Keystone expects any item that is recorded in Production Reciepts to have components. As of version 2.7.30.0 Keystone will not permit an item without components to be entered into Production Receipts.

Costing Associated with Production Receipts

When an item is produced it's cost is calculated from the sum of it's components. In the case where a component is an assembly the cost will come from the cost of that assembly if it is stocked and the sum of the cost of that assembly's components if it is non stocked.

Prior to reconcilation these costs come from standard cost. When Inventory Reconciliation is run then the average cost of all of the components is calculated and rolled upward to the assembly. Keystone will calculate these costs down through mulitple levels when appropriate.
