Overview

Keystone has a Query Export tool on the Utilities menu. This tool allows for the creation, editing and saving of custom queries, exports and reports. Queries saved as Custom Exports, or Custom Reports show up on the Custom Export and Custom Reports menu respectively when an export or report is created. Queries, Custom Exports, and Custom Reports can be assigned a security level to prevent access from users with a lower security level than the query.

After completing the steps below, users will NOT see Query Export on the Utilities menu and NOT see Custom Exports/Custom Reports unless they are assigned a high enough security level.

Best Practice

1. Since users with access to the Query Export program could potentially type in a query returning sensitive information, access to this program should be restricted by adding a record to the security table. After doing this only users with a security level greater than the one assigned to the program in the security table.

2. Assign all queries listed in the Query List of Query Export a security level.

  • Open Query Export from the Utilities Menu
  • Highlight the first query and select "Open" from the Query menu.
  • Select "Save" from the Query menu
  • Enter the desired security class in the Security Class field
  • Click "F2Save"
  • Repeat for the other queries on the Query list

Tips

To check/modify the Security Level for a user, log in to Keystone as ADMIN and select User Maintenance from the System Maintenance menu then Edit the user.
